Save 49% on ExpressVPN, and more great VPN deals

Image
More and more people are using a virtual private network (VPN) to improve their browsing experience. There are so many providers out there to choose from that you may not know where to start. To give you a hand, we’ve rounded up the best VPN deals from many of the top providers. If you’re wondering, a VPN encrypts your internet connection and allows you to route it through servers in different countries. It may sound suspicious, but it’s completely legal and means no one can access your data. Hackers can’t intercept your bank details, your ISP can’t monitor your activity, and so on. The new IP address you get in a different location means that your connection can’t be traced back to you either, so you’re both anonymous and secure. See also:  What is a VPN? These features offer more possibilities too. For example, having an IP address in a different country lets you access geo-restricted content, like watching UK Netflix from Spain or US Hulu from Japan. Personally, my VPN is neve

The EU just handed Spotify a big win against Apple

Image
Credit: Robert Triggs / Android Authority The Spotify vs Apple fight just heated up with the former seeing a big win against the latter in the EU. The European Commission charges that Apple abuses its dominant position with the App Store as it pertains to music streaming apps. Apple, of course, disputes the EC’s finding. If you fire up the Spotify app on your iPhone and try to upgrade to a premium subscription, you’ll be stopped short. The app will simply say, “You can’t upgrade to Premium in the app. We know, it’s not ideal.” The reason this isn’t possible is that Spotify has one of two choices: present that alert or allow people to subscribe to Spotify within the app but forfeit 15% of their payments. Obviously, Spotify chose the first option. However, this conundrum is what lies at the heart of the Spotify vs Apple fight happening right now. Visible will let you upgrade your phone before you’ve even paid it off

Image
A new Visible upgrade plan allows you to trade in your current phone for a new one, even if the current one still isn’t paid off. The program works for most phones Visible offers, but you must use its Affirm service to get the early upgrade. The new policy takes effect on May 3, 2021. Visible is a straightforward Millennial-friendly wireless carrier. There are no physical stores, there’s only one plan, and it costs half as much as plans from parent company Verizon . These details alone are enough to make it worth looking into if you’re ready to switch it up. However, the company just made things even sweeter. Starting on May 3, 2021, a new Visible upgrade program will allow you to trade in your current phone for a new one — even before you’ve paid off the current phone. Samsung website accidentally references Galaxy S21 FE

Image
The Mexican version of Samsung’s official site referenced the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. Samsung hasn’t confirmed the phone is coming yet, but all evidence suggests as much. It’s possible this reference was just a typo, but it seems more likely that Samsung is prepping for the expected August launch. In 2020, Samsung made it clear that it plans to continue to release “Fan Editions” of its flagship smartphone lines. This statement came about after the overwhelmingly positive response to the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE . With this in mind, we’ve long expected a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE . However, Samsung has yet to formally declare one is on the way. That lack of admission makes a reference to a Galaxy S21 FE on Samsung’s Mexican website all the more curious. As first spotted by  Galaxy Club , the reference to the unreleased phone appeared in a menu drop-down as an advertisement. The image shows two Galaxy S21 phones with text underneath that references the Fan Edition model. See it for y
