Just In: Sarri to leave Chelsea, as he agrees deal with Juventus

Image
Maurizio Sarri has reached an agreement with Juventus to become the Serie A champions’ next head coach and has requested Chelsea release him from his contract to join the Bianconeri, Goal understands. Fali Ramadani, Sarri’s agent, met with Chelsea management Friday to discuss his client’s future with the club as a move to Turin draws closer and closer. The 60-year-old Sarri intended to wait until the end of the season, and specifically the Europa League final, to consider the subject of what came next in his career. But the Chelsea boss has received an offer from Juventus that would pay him €7 million (£6m/$8m) to succeed Massimiliano Allegri, who had coached the Bianconeri to five straight league titles, at the club. Ramadani relayed news of that offer to Chelsea, as well as Sarri’s request to be allowed to join Juventus, though the Blues will take a few days before providing the manager with an answer. Chelsea do not want to be unprepared for Sarri’s departure and are targeting

Justice Department eyeing antitrust case against Google

Image
Google is said to be the target of a new Justice Department investigation, according to reports from the Wall Street Journal and Washington Post . The antitrust division of the Justice Department has put together the basics needed to form an investigation, say sources familiar with the agency’s plans. The move would put the search giant’s business practices under the microscope and could spell trouble for its multitude of business units. In addition to its main search business, Google offers a wide range of products and services, including Gmail, Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Android. Google no stranger to investigations In 2013, the Federal Trade Commission concluded a similar probe into Google’s behavior. At the time, the FTC deemed it the company hadn’t broken any laws. Even so, Google voluntarily made some changes to the way it ran select business units to appease investigators. The Justice Department and FTC only recently agreed which of the two agencies, which share a

Huawei just about to become the world’s biggest phone maker before US strike

Image
About a few weeks back, IDC and Strategy Analytics made public their global phone market share results. The results they presented only hinted on how impressive Huawei has been over the past few quarters of the year and the company appeared to be to take up more than half of the market even from Samsung. IDC placed the first quarter of Samsung at 23% while Huawei made 19% whereas Strategy Analytics placed Samsung at 21.7% and Huawei at 17.9%. Gartner on the other hand, released their own reports and they revealed that shipping of phones have reduced to a severe extent but, Huawei recorded an immense level of growth since the previous year. The difference between Samsung and Huawei is around 3.5% and had Huawei kept the increase in their phone production on, they would have been the greatest company producing phones in the world before the year 2019 ran out. What made this all interesting is that the CEO of Huawei laid a strategy about two years past and the strategy was to beat Ap

OnePlus 7 impressions: It’s ‘Flagship Killer’ all over again

Image
What happens when you take a really good phone, improve the specifications and reduce the price? You get the OnePlus 7 . The OnePlus 7 is, for better or worse, a faster OnePlus 6T . It’s a phone that sticks to the OnePlus ethos of providing top-notch hardware and software at a fair price point and it absolutely nails it. While the OnePlus 7 Pro takes on the minimalist school of design with its uber-clean front and a hidden front camera, the OnePlus 7 is all about usability and reducing friction. The front of the phone is essentially the same as the OnePlus 6T, right down to the waterdrop notch . The phone makes no pretense of hiding away the front camera in fancy ways like a punch-hole display. It also doesn’t have the curved edges of the Pro, which means the OnePlus 7 is not just easier to grip but also has a higher chance of surviving a fall. Some might say that the screen here isn’t quite as amazing as the 90Hz, Quad HD panel on the OnePlus 7 Pro , but the display is more than
