The Federal Government has announced a reduction of the pump price of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N123.50 per litre. According to the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), Executive Secretary, Mr. Abdulkadir Saidu, the new price takes effect from today, April 1, 2020. In a statement in Abuja on Tuesday night, he said: “PPPRA, in line with the Government approval for a monthly review of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) pump price, hereby announces Guiding PMS pump price of N123.50 per Litre. “The Guiding price which becomes effective 1st April 2020, shall apply at all retail outlets nationwide for the month of April, 2020. “PPPRA and other relevant regulatory Agencies shall continue to monitor compliance to extant regulations for a sustainable downstream petroleum sector. Inmates of Medium Custodial Centre in Kaduna engaged in a riot today March 31, over a rumoured suspected case of COVID-19 at the facility. The Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed and 11 other police officers have tested negative for Coronavirus. In a statement, the Force Spokesperson DCP Frank Mba revealed that the IGP and the police officers working with him submitted their samples on Friday last week. The test results came back negative. The police officers include Principal Staff Officer to the IGP, Idowu Owohunwa; Head of the Force Technical Intelligence Unit, Lanre Ogunlowo; Personal Physician to the IGP, Dr Nonye Welle. Others are the Medical Officer, Police Clinic at the Force Headquarters, Dr Titus Adegbite; Secretary to the IGP, Moses Jolugbo; and five other close aides to the police boss. The 14 day total lockdown order issued by President Buhari on Sunday March 29, was effected in Lagos and Abuja from 11pm on Monday March 30. While Ogun state government postponed the lockdown directive till Friday April 3, the police have blocked the inbound and outbound sections of the Lagos-Ibadan express way.
