The police are on the trail of an 18-year-old housemaid, identified simply as Queen, for allegedly fleeing with her boss’ property in Lagos. It was learnt that Queen on October 19 went away with property worth N500,000 belonging to her boss, Omowunmi Odejide. It was gathered that Odejide had returned home from a  birthday party around 8pm on the day of the incident to see her two children wandering in the compound. Odejide, who spoke to The Punch, said she asked of Queen from her neighbours who told her that she went out to buy something around 7pm and had yet to return. The Osun State indigene, who noted that she was reluctant to go for the party, said Queen encouraged her to go. The 37-year-old added that Queen went away with one box containing the goods she packed from her shop. The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has said that he would not bow to pressure that will make him act against his conscience over the crisis in the party. He made the declaration after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. There are strong indications of another clash between security operatives and members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Thursday (today). PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has condemned the plan by the Federal Government to dispose of some national assets and use the proceeds to fund the 2019 budget. The former VP described the plan as irresponsible. Reacting via a statement in Abuja on Wednesday through his media office, Atiku said it was ridiculous that the Buhari administration was planning to sell assets that were built by the PDP despite the claim by President Muhammadu Buhari that the successive PDP governments from 1999 to 2015 did not build any infrastructure. The Federal Government has made it known that it was not in support of the N22,500 minimum wage proposed by the Nigeria Governors Forum. The Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige said, “The governors have not even done enough. I told them that this N22,500 was even rejected by the Federal Government." The NGF had stated that they were capable of paying Nigerian workers N22,500 as the new minimum wage as against the current N18,000. This is lower than the N30,000 proposed by labour.
