government’s implementation of the 5for5 demands. Following the End SARS protests, youths had presented the five demands to the Federal Government. However, Adeyemi urged the youths to use the opportunity they currently have to push for reforms that would make Nigeria a better place. The clergyman, in a series of tweets, called on Nigerian youths to carry themselves along in pushing for a better country. According to Adeyemi: “You need a strong ideology to lay the foundation for a new nation. Nations are built on ideologies. Decide on a few short, medium and long term objectives. Example; short term (#ENDSARS), medium term (influence political process), long term (make Nigeria a developed economy). “Carry as many people as possible along by communicating your vision for building a developed economy. This is real work. Morph the protest into town hall meetings. Be innovative with your messaging, using local languages. A large chunk of citizens are barely educated. “Please sell t

will come into the shooting of armless protesters at Lekki Toll Gate. AFBA, through its President, Hannibal Uwaifo, described the shooting of unarmed people as a crime of unimaginable proportion, adding that such a crime is within the parameters of the ICC “The group of soldiers and those who authorized them violated the rights of the protesters. If soldiers are sent to quell a peaceful protest and, in the process, they kill protesters, it is assumed that you sent soldiers to kill people,” Uwaifo said as quoted by Vanguard. According to him, “saying that you didn’t tell soldiers to kill won’t be acceptable. Like I said you are said to intend the natural consequence which flows from the act. And that natural consequence of shooting at peaceful protesters is death.” He, however, pointed out that the ICC can come into the matter when it has been established that the Federal Government does not have the capacity to investigate the crime or unwilling to do so. He said by then the ICC

TVC, and the Nation Newspaper by hoodlums in Lagos State. Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, on Saturday, described the action of the youths as assault on free press and democracy. Reporters reported that angry youths had, during the escalated End SARS crisis in Lagos, attacked the properties. According to his spokesman, Segun Adeyemi, the Minister made the assertion when he visited the two media organizations on Saturday to commemorate with the management and staff. The Minister said the action was a premeditated attempt to silence the voice of reason and stifle press freedom. “We believe that the attack on the Nation is not just an attack on the Vintage Press, it’s an attack on the free press, it’s an attack on democracy, because there can be no virile and robust democracy without a free media. “Therefore, an attack on the Nation or any media house is a direct attack on freedom of speech and also democracy and, honestly, we believe that there is no

Gov El-Rufai calls for restructuring of Nigeria

Image
El-Rufai stated this on Saturday, while speaking at a public lecture to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Arewa House in Kaduna. He cited the 2018 recommendations of the All Progressives Congress (APC) committee on restructuring and noted that there was a need to reorganise the country’s constitutional framework, in order to give states more control over certain resources. According to El-Rufai, it will “empower state governments to cease passing the buck to the president and the federal government.” “I, therefore, call on our federal legislators and the National Assembly ad hoc committee on constitutional review to take advantage of our report and initiate the constitutional and legislative amendments in either a piece-meal or comprehensive manner without further delay. “We, therefore, have no excuse not to seize this moment and do the heavy lifting for our country and our people. “It is in our hands to make the structures, laws and constitutional arrangements in our country c

Today's bible teaching: Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever.

Psalm 37 1 Psalm 37 Of David.  1 Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; 2 for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. 3 Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. 4 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. 7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. 8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret--it leads only to evil. 9 For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land. 10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. 11 But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peac

Forces including Navy SEALs rescued 27-year-old Philip Walton, who had been abducted on Tuesday from his home in neighboring southern Niger, two U.S. officials said on condition of anonymity, adding that no U.S. troops were hurt. A diplomat source in Niger said Walton is now at the U.S. ambassador’s residence in Niamey. “Big win for our very elite U.S. Special Forces today,” U.S. President Donald Trump wrote on Twitter. White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said on Fox News that the Trump administration had over the years rescued 55 hostages in 24 countries. The Pentagon confirmed the operation but did not provide the identity of the hostage. Walton, who kept camels, sheep, and poultry and grew mangoes near the border with Nigeria, was kidnapped by six men armed with AK-47 assault rifles who arrived on motorcycles at his home in southern Niger’s Massalata village early on Tuesday. DJI Pocket 2 review: Better than the original in so many ways

Image
When the DJI Osmo Pocket launched in 2018, it quickly became one of my favorite gadgets . Its tiny size and powerful features make it an essential part of my gear bag. It allows me to get high-quality, ultra-smooth video with the same camera sensor found on a prosumer DJI drone. Needless to say, I was super excited to get my hands on the follow-up for this DJI Pocket 2 review. DJI made a lot of substantial upgrades to the Pocket 2 compared to the original, and I couldn’t wait to put them to the test. About this DJI Pocket 2 review: I used the Pocket 2 on its own as well as in tandem with my OnePlus 7 Pro. I used it with a beta version of the DJI Mimo app for Android. DJI provided Android Authority with the device and the beta app for the purposes of this review. DJI Pocket 2 A tiny all-in-one camera solution The DJI Pocket 2 features the same three-axis gimbal camera you find on DJI's line of prosumer drones. Return to duty posts or face dismissal - P.S.C warns policemen

Image
The Police Service Commission has faulted the refusal of some policemen to return to work following the killing of about 22 cops during the violence that erupted in the wake of the #EndSARS crisis.  The PSC who encouraged the policemen with low morale to put the killing of their colleagues behind them, stated that the Public Service Rules which also applies to members of the Nigeria Police Force, prescribes dismissal for any officer that deserts his job.  The commission averred that the attack on policemen by hoodlums should not be an excuse for them to stay away from work. It however stressed that policemen did not deserve to be killed and should in fact be protected as they are also humans.  Revealing why the attack on policemen is not good for the country, PSC spokesperson, Mr Ikechukwu Ani told Reporters;  “When you make Nigeria lawless and ungovernable, there would be a situation nobody would be able to control. “The Nigeria Police Force is part of the public service and

Huawei P40 Pro revisited: Should you still buy it?

Image
Credit: Robert Triggs / Android Authority The Huawei P40 Pro will be remembered as a turning point in Huawei’s smartphone fortunes. After years of riding high and gaining ground on the market leaders, the US/China trade-dispute changed the fortunes of the P series on a dime. In  our review of the Huawei P40 Pro , we praised the handset for a range of improvements across the board. From tweaks to its already excellent camera system, to a new 90Hz display, and stellar ergonomic design. However, the top-tier hardware package couldn’t shake the absence of Google apps and API support. The App Gallery’s software selection was also far too small, making it impossible to recommend to most consumers. Especially at its £999/€999 (~$1,165) launch price. I’ve revisited the Huawei P40 Pro numerous times over the past few months to drop in on the app situation and reference the still excellent camera setup. So, does the phone still hold up? Have the app criticisms been addressed? Should
