Five Nigerians, who allegedly stormed a money exchange in Sharjah and fled with Dh2.3 million, have been arrested, the police said on Sunday. According to the police, the men barged into the exchange and smashed the glass barrier between the customers and the staff, stole the money in multiple currencies and fled. Two employees at the exchange were injured as they resisted the robbers. One of them managed to notify the police. The Sharjah Police coordinated with forces from Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman to nab the suspects from four emirates within 48 hours after the robbery was committed. The incident was reported at Al Ansari Exchange in Al Tawoon area. A top police official said the suspects came to the country on visit visas on March 18. For two days, they studied the exchange office before deciding to commit the robbery around midnight - just before the shop was to close. A middle-aged school teacher and mother of one allegedly killed her three-year-old son before allegedly committing suicide in the Ayobo area of Lagos. The incident happened on Saturday. Local reports show that the woman whose identity is yet to be revealed, lived a comfortable life with her son at their home on No 1, Adeniran Street, off Ferguson Osagie Road in Ayobo. Her husband is said to be based abroad...  Residents say she was financially comfortable and had no known trouble that may have led her to kill her son and then take her own life. Officers from the Ayobo Police Station who were invited after the incident was discovered, say they are not ruling out possible double homicide as the deceased and her son were foaming from the mouth when they were found dead inside their home. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has ruled out the conduct of fresh governorship and House of Assembly elections in Rivers State, ignoring those calling for such. This is as the governorship candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), Biokpomabo Awara, who is backed APC elements in the state walked out of the stakeholders’ meeting organised by INEC to continue the suspended March 9 elections in the state. Speaking at the meeting, INEC National Commissioner in-charge of Bayelsa, Rivers and Edo States, May Agbamuche-Mbu, emphasised that a fresh election would not be conducted in the state. Agbamuche-Mbu, who stated that the commission would resume collation in Rivers State on April 2, 2019, said the objective of the meeting is to brief stakeholders on the activities and schedule of the collation by the electoral body. One of Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET302’s pilots told the other “pitch up, pitch-up” moments before the Boeing 737 Max jetliner crashed three weeks ago, a new report has revealed. According to The Wall Street Journal, that instruction and other information about the plane’s final moments paint a picture of a flight crew that was quickly overwhelmed. The Ethiopian Airlines jet took off from Addis Ababa on March 10 and ran into trouble almost immediately, the Journal reported. First Officer Ahmed Nur Mohammed contacted the control tower and in a crackling transmission reported a “flight control problem,” according to the newspaper, which cited people close to the ongoing investigation. The tower asked for details as Captain Yared Getachew tried to climb and correct the glide path, the paper reported.  Two minutes into the flight oscillation became a wild bounce, then a dive. A 37-year-old woman, Mrs. Josephine, has been arrested in Lagos state for bathing her neighbour, one Mrs. Blessing Christopher, 33, with hot water for reportedly greeting her husband against her wish.
