An actress accusing disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein of rape told a court Friday she had only stayed in contact with him out of fear. Jessica Mann said she had been naive when she first met Weinstein and then so scared of him that she would agree to stay in contact with him even after he allegedly raped her. Dozens of women have accused Weinstein of sexual abuse but only the cases of Mann and fellow actress Mimi Haleyi have led to criminal charges in a New York court. Three other women — Annabella Sciorra, Dawn Dunning and Tarale Wulff — have testified that Weinstein sexually assaulted them, but their cases are not the subject of the trial, which was sitting for the eighth day of testimony. Embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, was in attendance at the President Donald Trump rally which took place in Des Moines, Iowa. The self-styled IPOB leader attended the rally held on Thursday at Drake University and shared pictures taken at the event on Twitter on Friday. Kanu said he was at the VIP section and met several Republican heavyweights. A former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has regained his freedom after spending four weeks in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Sani, who was arrested and detained for alleged extortion and bribery, was released on Thursday after perfecting his bail conditions. The photographs of the embattled ex-lawmaker had flooded the Internet and social media. An official of the EFCC confirmed his release. The anti-graft agency arrested the ex-lawmaker last December for failing to honour several invitations over allegations that he extorted $24,000 from the Chairman of ASD Motors, Alhaji Sani Dauda. The agency alleged that Sani extorted the money from Dauda to shield him from an ongoing criminal investigation. Operatives of the EFCC also searched his residence and office in Abuja. A 30-year-old man, Ayanniyi Olaosebikan, was on Thursday remanded at Ile-Ife correctional centre for stoning police officers. According to the charge sheet, the offence committed by the defendant contravened sections 365(3) and 508 of the criminal code cap 34 vol ll, laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
