2baba: Singer’s N10 Million donation grabs Buhari’s attention

Veteran musician, Innoncent Idibia has drawn the attention of President Buhari with his generous donation of N10 million naira to government to help combat the highly infectious COVID 19 virus.

President Buhari singled out the singer for commendation in the entertainment industry. The unprecedented donation makes the singer the current biggest donor from the creative industry in the fight to contain the infectious COVID !9.

As of Monday, Nigeria announced its 131 case which according to experts signifies a tipping point as fear heightens of a community transmission among Nigerians following the closure of both land and air border into the country.

The President said this in a statement signed by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Buhari

It read in part, “President Muhammadu Buhari acknowledges, with deep appreciation, the kind gesture of captain of industries, corporate entities, missionaries, musical artistes and individuals who have consistently supported ongoing efforts to mitigate COVID-19 pandemic, which is ravaging the global economy.”
Also commended were donations from All Progressives Congress National leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC), Dr Mike Adenuga Jr, Modupeola and Folorunsho Alakija of Famfa Oil, and Dr Emeka Offor.

Others were Zenith Bank PLC, Keystone bank, First Bank Plc, Stallion Empowerment Initiative of the Stallion Group and Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr Paul Enenche, and his wife, Dr Becky Enenche for their public sensitization.

While urging all to route contributions through Presidential Task Force for the Control of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the President appealed for more financial, technical and material contribution of companies and individuals.
