Suspect The  Kano  State Police command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Salisu Idris, for allegedly setting fire on a house which killed a couple and their daughter because he was promised the sum of N200, 000. Spokesperson of the Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, who confirmed the arrest, identified the victims as Aminu Bala, 50, his wife, Rukayya, and two-year-old daughter, Aisha. “The  Kano  State Police Command wishes to intimate the good people of the State that on the 25/09/2019 at 0300hrs, an official incident report was received that the resident of one Aminu Bala ‘m’ 50yrs old of Gayawa Yamma Village, Ungogo LGA was set ablazed by unknown persons. Early reports suggest a mechanical problem caused the carriage to become detached from the ride and fall some 10 metres to the ground, the public prosecutor said in a statement. It is believed the two men died as a result of head injuries, it added, while two women were taken to the hospital — one of them in a serious condition. The accident happened at La Feria amusement park in the capital Mexico City on Saturday. Dr Okezie Ikpeazu The Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has directed the sacking of the General Manager of Abia State Environmental Sanitation Agency, Mr Okechukwu Apugo, over poor sanitation situation in Umuahia. According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Chief John  Kalu, the governor gave the directive after he saw heaps of refuse along the road while on project tour of the state. Ikpeazu directed the Secretary to the State Government, Chris Ezem, to take over the sanitation in Umuahia with the immediate -past Commissioner for Environment and now commissioner nominee, Dr Aham Uko, assisting him. Meanwhile Ikpeazu said he would complete all ongoing projects in the state without compromising on quality. He spoke after the project tour, pointing out that the funds for the projects were ready. Ikpeazu said he had established  Operation Zero Portholes  in Aba and Umuahia to ensure that the roads in the two metropolises were rehabilitated. ...
