Five Nigerians, who allegedly stormed a money exchange in Sharjah and fled with Dh2.3 million, have been arrested, the police said on Sunday. According to the police, the men barged into the exchange and smashed the glass barrier between the customers and the staff, stole the money in multiple currencies and fled. Two employees at the exchange were injured as they resisted the robbers. One of them managed to notify the police. The Sharjah Police coordinated with forces from Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman to nab the suspects from four emirates within 48 hours after the robbery was committed. The incident was reported at Al Ansari Exchange in Al Tawoon area. A top police official said the suspects came to the country on visit visas on March 18. A middle-aged school teacher and mother of one allegedly killed her three-year-old son before allegedly committing suicide in the Ayobo area of Lagos. The incident happened on Saturday. Local reports show that the woman whose identity is yet to be revealed, lived a comfortable life with her son at their home on No 1, Adeniran Street, off Ferguson Osagie Road in Ayobo. This is as the governorship candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), Biokpomabo Awara, who is backed APC elements in the state walked out of the stakeholders’ meeting organised by INEC to continue the suspended March 9 elections in the state. One of Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET302’s pilots told the other “pitch up, pitch-up” moments before the Boeing 737 Max jetliner crashed three weeks ago, a new report has revealed. According to The Wall Street Journal, that instruction and other information about the plane’s final moments paint a picture of a flight crew that was quickly overwhelmed. The Ethiopian Airlines jet took off from Addis Ababa on March 10 and ran into trouble almost immediately, the Journal reported. First Officer Ahmed Nur Mohammed contacted the control tower and in a crackling transmission reported a “flight control problem,” according to the newspaper, which cited people close to the ongoing investigation. A 37-year-old woman, Mrs. Josephine, has been arrested in Lagos state for bathing her neighbour, one Mrs. Blessing Christopher, 33, with hot water for reportedly greeting her husband against her wish.
