How did it happen? Chinwendu’s parents, Emeka and Rejoice Ekiri, alleged that their daughter was abducted by Innocent Ndubuisi, their neighbour. The incident took place at around 1am on Saturday April 28 at the McDonald’s branch in Butterfly Walk Shopping Centre, Camberwell, South London. The female customer had gotten into an argument with the McDonald’s staff when her fast food order took too long. A deaf Kenyan couple that dated for over a year through text messages got married last weekend in a wedding ceremony that was presided over by a deaf pastor. William Mwaura, 29, and Phyllis Wawira 28, got married at Kang’eng’u ACK church in Kandara Constituency, Murang’a, Kenya on Saturday after a one and half years of courtship. Their wedding which featured a deaf priest, deaf couple and deaf bridesmaids, attracted a huge crowd who were packed at the wedding venue to witness the rare ceremony. Newcastle University student Omar wants to warn and stop many more people from falling victim to the scam. According to him, he thought he had found a bargain when he discovered a new iPhone X for sale online priced at £650. Little did he realise that he was about to become the victim of a fraudster who used concrete putty to make the empty box feel heavier. Using the boot sale app Shpock, Omar arranged for the phone to be brought to his accommodation in central Newcastle on April 3 by a man called ‘Jamie A’. Omar handed over the £650 in cash and ‘Jamie A’ wrote out a receipt with an address in Sunderland. Omar said: ‘Once I gave him the money he kind of almost ran away.
